Bob’s Pizza History

In the heart of our small town, where the scent of freshly baked pizza mingled with the laughter of friends and the chatter of families, there existed a humble beginning to what would become a cherished institution—Bob’s Pizza.

It all began with Bob Miller, a man whose passion for pizza knew no bounds. Bob’s love affair with pizza wasn’t merely a culinary dalliance; it was a journey of flavors, a symphony of taste waiting to be shared with the world. From the humble confines of his kitchen, Bob delighted in crafting pizzas for his nearest and dearest, his creations becoming legendary among those lucky enough to taste them.

As Bob’s friends and family savored each mouthful of his homemade pizzas, their eyes would sparkle with delight, and they’d often find themselves saying, “Bob, you’ve got a real talent for this. You should consider opening your own pizza shop!” These words weren’t just passing comments; they lingered in Bob’s thoughts like the aroma of freshly baked dough, igniting a spark of possibility within him.

In 1971, Bob decided to take a leap of faith. Armed with little more than his passion and a sprinkle of courage, he transformed his basement into a makeshift pizzeria, where the aroma of bubbling mozzarella and savory toppings wafted through the air, drawing in neighbors and passersby alike.

For nearly a decade, Bob’s basement pizzeria served as a haven for pizza lovers far and wide. But as demand for his delectable pies grew, Bob knew it was time to expand. In 1980, seizing an opportunity, he purchased a quaint donut shop nestled on the corner of 224 and 44. With its cozy charm and central location, it became the new home for Bob’s Pizza, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their story.

1983 – 1984

As business flourished, Bob realized that his vision extended beyond just pizza. In 1983, he made the bold decision to transition from a donut shop to a full-fledged restaurant, offering an extensive menu that catered to every craving. From hearty breakfast classics to mouthwatering sandwiches and a variety of other culinary delights, Bob’s Pizza became more than just a pizzeria; it became a destination for food lovers of all stripes.

In 1984, Bob introduced a groundbreaking concept to the area—a beer and wine drive-thru. What started as a convenient stop for libations quickly evolved into a popular food pickup destination, where locals could enjoy Bob’s mouthwatering creations from the comfort of their cars.

As the years passed and Bob’s Pizza cemented its place as a beloved fixture in the community, Bob found himself ready to pass the torch to the next generation. In 1992, his son Brad stepped up to the plate, buying out his father and embracing the responsibility of carrying on the family legacy.

Under Brad’s stewardship, Bob’s Pizza continued to thrive, expanding to a second location in Greentown in 2009 while remaining true to its roots of quality, community, and, above all, passion for good food. Today, Bob’s Pizza stands as a beacon of warmth and hospitality, a testament to the power of one man’s dream and the enduring legacy it leaves behind. Welcome to our story. Welcome to Bob’s Pizza.
